Well, yesterday I got the update for Facebook on my iPhone. It asked me if I wanted to sync my friends with my contacts. This will put their Facebook pic on their contact if they don't already have a picture. It was nice and all but I didn't want it since my iPhone is owned by Loop, the company I work for.

What a nice surprise! I never expected someone to actually read this :D
ReplyDeleteThis is helpful, and for some reason, hard information to find.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thank you so much! Every time one of my fb friends updated their profile, I was getting a duplicate iPhone contact entry.
ReplyDeleteSee. This is what I was looking for. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks helped me alot..
ReplyDeleteThanks I had read the instructions elsewhere but yours are clearer
ReplyDeletewhat is more scary is I now have 800 more contacts on my phone.
ReplyDeletei have a iphond 4 and i dont see the sync button i still dont know how to turn it off
ReplyDeleteIn settings go to Facebook and turn off the switch next to contacts. This will disallow permission for the Contacts app to sync with Facebook andreturn your contact list to the state it was in before it was synced with Facebook.
Deletethat didnt work for me they are still there
ReplyDeleteSettings > Facebook > Turn off contacts > Hit update all contacts.
ReplyDeleteDone
I had synced not really realizing what all that was going to be. Somehow all of my REAL contacts are gone...even going through these steps. Hitting update all contacts tells me I have zero contacts to update :(
ReplyDeleteSettings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> scroll down to My Info -> Groups -> Uncheck "facebook"
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
